New teaching job!

After a year off classroom teaching and months of navigating through the UK visa and teaching job application processes, I am happy to announce I got a job starting in September!  I'll be teaching Year 3, the US equivalent of 2nd grade, in a junior school (2nd-5th) in Dewsbury, England.   I'm going to have a go at blogging about my experiences of teaching in the English school system, as well as reflect on my 6 years of  teaching in an elementary school in Castroville, California.  I’m excited to begin teaching a new population of children in a new setting, with cultural experiences, vocabulary,  and accents (I’m just starting to comprehend Yorkshire English) much different than mine.  For my teacher and non-teacher friends and family who are interested in being part of my teaching journey across the pond, read on!
